The role in plain terms

This is applied generative AI work: building GenAI features - chat, summarization, RAG-style retrieval over client data - into delivered products.

What the employer asks for

These duties and requirements are quoted or closely condensed from the employer's listing so the details are not distorted:

Duties:

  • Design and build production LLM-powered applications and API integrations using OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-source model APIs
  • Implement RAG architectures, vector databases, and knowledge retrieval systems for enterprise AI applications
  • Develop agentic AI workflows using LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGPT, and equivalent frameworks
  • Fine-tune and evaluate foundation models for domain-specific enterprise use cases using LoRA/QLoRA and PEFT techniques
  • Deploy and monitor generative AI systems in production with appropriate guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and observability
  • Optimize LLM inference performance, cost, and output quality through quantization, pruning, and distillation
  • Build prompt engineering and context engineering pipelines for deterministic, high-quality outputs
  • Implement LLM observability: tracing, logging, dashboards to monitor prompts, responses, token usage, and failure cases
  • Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to integrate AI capabilities into business workflows
  • Stay current with emerging GenAI frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, MCP, and model routing tools

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, including 1–2+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying GenAI/LLM applications in production
  • Strong proficiency in Python and backend development (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
  • Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines, vector databases, and semantic search systems in production
  • Deep understanding of transformer architectures, LLM fundamentals, and prompt engineering techniques
  • Experience with fine-tuning foundation models using LoRA, QLoRA, or other PEFT methods
  • Proficiency with GenAI frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent agent orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices: model deployment, monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and CI/CD for AI
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with multi-agent systems and autonomous workflow orchestration
  • Knowledge of model optimization techniques: quantization, distillation, pruning for inference efficiency
  • Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and emerging AI integration standards

Experience required: 3+ Years.

Who this role suits

This suits an engineer with 3+ years who knows the GenAI stack (LLM APIs, embeddings, vector stores, prompt design) and has shipped at least one real GenAI feature.
