What the work involves

• The Opportunity: This position will assist in performing monthly global financial accounting activities and reporting tasks

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and financial statement reviews with adequate supporting documentation
• Prepare and report timely monthly financial results through reporting and consolidation tools to support Avantor's global consolidation and external reporting

• Manage statutory and management reporting
• under US GAAP and local GAAP (HGB), including analysis of accounting differences and preparation of supporting documentation
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding reconciling items
• Perform monthly PL and Balance Sheet flux analysis, identify key business drivers, investigate variances, and communicate findings to management
• Calculate and record accounting estimates and reserves including bad debt reserves, inventory reserves, sales cut, accruals, rebates, credit notes, EO reserves, and foreign exchange revaluation adjustments
• Support lease accounting activities, fixed asset accounting, depreciation and amortization accounting, and other complex accounting areas as applicable
• Prepare quarterly tax reporting packages and support direct and indirect tax related information requests from tax advisors and internal stakeholders
• Analyze and resolve intercompany transactions and reconciliation differences with global counterparts to ensure accurate and timely reporting
