Chromium C/C++ Development Intern
Arakoo
Arakoo, an open-source startup building infrastructure for GPT-class AI models, has a three-month remote Chromium C/C++ Development internship. This is a rare systems-level internship: browser engine work in C++, Rust and Java, not web development.
Arakoo's main framework is EdgeChains, an open-source framework for building applications on large language models.
What the work involves
The intern develops the company's Chromium-based browsers using C++, Rust and Java, troubleshoots and resolves issues related to Chromium and other parts of the software stack, and stays current with developments in Chromium and C++ to apply them to products.
Chromium work means a large, mature codebase: expect long builds, careful reading of existing code, and incremental fixes rather than greenfield features. That is exactly the kind of experience that is hard to get early in a career.
Who can apply
Candidates must be available for the work-from-home internship, start between 27 October and 1 December 2026, and commit to three months. Computer Science Engineering students are named. The stated skills are C++ programming and Rust.
Practical requirements: a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM running Linux or WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux). Perks include a certificate, letter of recommendation and flexible work hours.
Location, pay and application
Fully remote, work from home. The source states a stipend of INR 15,000-20,000 per month. Apply by 26 November 2026.
The opening is employer-posted on Internshala; use that platform for the full description and application. Internshala may require an account to apply.
Prepare your application
Show systems work: a C++ project with real memory or concurrency considerations, Rust exercises with ownership reasoning, or any contribution to a large open-source codebase. If you have ever compiled Chromium or a similarly large project, say so prominently.
The source publication date is 2026-10-27. Availability was checked on 4 November 2026. Review the full source and its latest terms before applying.
